Distances:

While the Atlas shows "Miles", the Peoples of the Known World use others words that mean "Unit of Distance" or the common phrase "A Full Leg's Stretch". 

​

An Atlas Mile is slightly shorter, comparable to 1.5 KM on Earth.

 

 Also, "Feet" are measured in 10 equal units, comparable to 10 inches/25 centimeters on Earth.

By Foot

12-14 miles per day

 

By Horse

20-25 miles per day

 

By Sea

Normal cargo ship = 30-50 miles per day

Typical war ship with rowers + sail = 50-75 miles per day

Sophisticated long distance ship with advanced sails = 100-125 miles per day

 

By Air (Giant Eagle)

Single eagle who has to hunt for food along the way, favorable weather:

100-125 miles per day

 

Traveling party with extra eagles bringing food for all the eagles, favorable weather:

150-200 miles per day
