Campaign Overview
D'nashk Re'at - The Kingdom of the Free

Welcome to D'nashk Re'at, the Kingdom of the Free! For players of Dungeons and Dragons, Pathfinder or some other Fantasy RPG, this site contains a comprehensive story framework and world atlas for an alternate medieval fantasy campaign setting, borrowing from the Forgotten Realms and the Lord of the Rings, with a monotheistic kingdom as its central protagonist and an anti-christ figure as its main antagonist.

The major theme of the story involves a historic struggle between those who live under the Magic of Nature that comes from the Knowledge of the Most High, Creator of the Universe, and those who practice the Dark Magic of the Undead that comes from the Fallen Ones - an ancient Secret Society identified in the Sacred Writings of the Elves as the Circle of Kings and their Legions.
The Knowledge of the Most High and the Magic of Nature

The Kingdoms of the Elves and D'nashk Re'at, the Kingdom of the Free, are the only kingdoms in the Known World that officially recognize and worship the Most High, Creator of the Universe. The Elves guard this Knowledge as a secret, while D'nashk Re'at proclaims it to any who are willing to listen.
According to the Sacred Writings of the Elves, the Magic of Nature was originally given to a race of people called the Ancient Stewards, to enable them to fulfill their destiny as Stewards of the Cosmos. This Magic (along with the Sacred Writings) was later given to the Elves when they responded to the First Great Invitation. And it was given again, almost a thousand years after, to the people of D'nashk Re'at, the Kingdom of the Free, which came into existence during the Second Great Invitation.

The Dark Magic of the Undead

Long ago, a group of Ancient Stewards rebelled against the Most High and established a secret society called the Circle of Kings and their Legions. After being banished from the Throne Room of the Most High, they were renamed as the Fallen Ones and thrust into the Dark Magic of the Undead. Since then the Fallen Ones have been ruling over the Peoples of the Known World as demi-gods, forcing them into constant war with each other and raising up powerful Agents of Darkness from the various people groups, all to determine who is greatest among them.
Da'rook, the most clever of the Fallen Ones, has started a plan to raise up an Emperor who will establish a Kingdom of Darkness that will stretch across the entire Known World. But there is also a prophecy from the Most High recorded in the Sacred Writings of the Elves that speaks of a future Champion who will rise up against the Circle of Kings and their chosen Agent of Darkness. He will establish the Kingdom of Summer and end the Wars of the Races.

The Ministry of Heroes

Players will be taking on the role of the Ministry of Heroes: an elite fighting group that works along side the Royal Guard in service to the King and Queen of D'nask Re'at - the Kingdom of the Free. You have one purpose - to stand against the Agents of Darkness who are unleased against the Royal Family and the citizens of the kingdom.
Some of you have answered a deep calling inside your heart to serve a cause greater than yourselves. Some of you come from wealthy merchant families who are trying to take advantage of the rewards of service, which may include treasure, land, and a possible royal title. Still others have ended up on the wrong side of the Common Law and were given a choice of service over a long season of jail time.
Whatever your Hero's motivations are, you are now part of a secret team and your missions are vital to the survival of the kingdom, for the Powers of Darkness have declared their intent on its destruction.
